Jajpur( Zee Kalinga Live) : Miscreants allegedly attacked a vehicle carrying former BJD MLA Pranab Balabantaray at Aruha village in Dharmasala tehsil in Jajpur district on today .
The incident took place while the former Dharmasala legislator along with his supporters was travelling in his SUV to attend a religious ceremony dedicated to Maa Hingula.
As per reports, the goons by direction of Independent MLA Himanshu Sahoo attacked the vehicle of the BJD leader with sticks and fatal weapons.
The incident sparked tension among locals as well as the former MLA’s supporters.
On receiving information, Jenapur police station IIC reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
After the incident, Balabantaray returned to his residence after having darshan of deity at Yajna place as per the schedule.
